Souvenir Coins from France

As my brother and I traveled around France for a few weeks in the year 2000, the castles (as well as Notre Dame) featured souvenir coins especially minted for the year 2000.

Listed below are the few coins I could get my hands on. (I've only scanned the front of the coins because the reverse sides all have the same, boring look.)

• Close de Luce Chateau Castle -- The coin featues Leonardo da Vinci, who died at this castle.
• Notre Dame -- There are two coins of Notre Dame.
• Musee De L'armee -- This shows Napoleon on his horse in the famous pose.
• Usse Chateau Castle -- This is the best, overall coin.
• Villandry Chateau Castle
