Chicago
(Photos 6-10)

I regularly travel to Chicago and am always amazed by the beauty of the city, particularly its buildings. You know, I never even looked at the architecture of buildings until I took an architectural tour of the city.

Ever since then, I've been looking up and marveling. Many of the photos below and on the next few pages show some of the great buildings. Other shots are from some of the Chicago sights, including the Navy Pier and the Museum of Science & Industry.

Here is another shot taken at night from the Navy Pier. By the way, the skyscraper on the extreme right-hand side of the photo is where Oprah Winfrey lives.

These are just three buildings that just look soooo cool together. You almost expect Superman to fly by.

Okay, this is me getting artsy-fartsy. If you look at the wallpaper version of this (at right), you'll see that I captured the mirror image of the Navy Pier ferris wheel on the side of a glass building. I could take this shot only because the pool in front of the building had been drained for maintenance. I was standing in the middle of it.

Folks living in Chicago consider these the two ugliest buildings in the city. But when these structures were first created, people from around the world came to see them. If you look at the wallpaper (at right), you'll see that the bottom stories of these skyscrapers are open-air car garages, where people pull right up to the edge of the ledge.
Wallpaper
I just love the contrast of these two round concrete buildings standing next to a shining steel square structure.
