France: Paris & Loire Valley
(Photos 56-60)

My brother and I spent 10 days in France, visiting Paris and the castles (known there as the "chateaus") of Loire Valley. I am a professional photographer and took dozens of shots, most of which I've saved as the proper size for computer wallpaper.

You can certainly scroll through the thumbnails on the next several pages or you can go to my cheat sheet to see a text-only list of the subjects of the photos on the various pages.

Napoleon's tomb at Invalides is huge! It must be at least two stories high. And while it looks like it is carved out of wood, it's actually carved out of rock! Amazing.

When you view this shot of St. Germain L'Auxerrols Church, think about death. I was fascinated with this church, then was horrified to learn that it was the place of a massacre. In 1572, hundreds of Huguenots showed up at the church for a wedding. While they were there, supporters of royalty showed up and killed everybody inside. What did these statues see?

I just loved these little guys at the bottom of the statues outside the St. Germain L'Auxerrols Church.
