France: Paris & Loire Valley
(Photos 71-75)

My brother and I spent 10 days in France, visiting Paris and the castles (known there as the "chateaus") of Loire Valley. I am a professional photographer and took dozens of shots, most of which I've saved as the proper size for computer wallpaper.

You can certainly scroll through the thumbnails on the next several pages or you can go to my cheat sheet to see a text-only list of the subjects of the photos on the various pages.

Okay, look closely.  This is a grave at Cimetiere du Pere-Lachaise. This person apparently loved the sea so much that he or she had a concrete ship put on the grave as a tombstone.

I love this shot. Even though this grave at Cimetiere du Pere-Lachaise is hundreds of years old, you can still see captured in the stone the love of the daughter for the mother.

This is the tomstone for Oscar Wilde at Cimetiere du Pere-Lachaise. It is covered in hundreds of "kisses" left by women who kissed the tombstone while wearing lipstick. Some people even drew "kisses" on the tombstone, such as the large "kiss" in the center, near the bottom.

Here's a shot of Arc de Triomphe the from one of the street corners. You can't actually cross the street to get to the arch. You have to take an underground passageway.
