One of the requests I often get is for the Ugachaka (Oogachaka) Dancing Baby and all other material in my "Fun Folder" on my hard drive. At the public classes I teach, I always show various Quicktime movies, QTVR "virtual reality" photos, sound files and lots of other material. Of course, the Ugachaka (Oogachaka) Dancing Baby is always the favorite. Listed below is much of that material. Please note that the larger files are "Zipped," which means they are compressed. To "UnZip" them in Windows 3.11 or Windows 95, you will need the free program WinZip, which can be found at: If you have a Macintosh, you will need StuffIt Expander, which you can find at: By the way, most of these these files are set to download
to your hard drive, NOT to play live. After you download these, you will
then need to double-click on them from your hard drive. AVI's and Quicktime Movies Alien Song (alienson.zip, 2.9MB) -- Folks, this could become the "new" rage of the Internet. This is a very high quality MPG by Victor Navone of a 1-eyed alien singing, "I will survive." This 42-second clip is highly detailed and ends with...well, I'm not gonna give it away. Trust me. You'll laugh out loud and call your friends over to your screen as you replay it again and again. Bill Gates' Computer Crashing (gates.zip, 1.33MB) -- In this 30-second clip, you get to see Gates' computer crash (it blue screens, even) as he shows off Windows 98 at a convention. Dancing Baby (Ugachaka Oogachaka Dancing Baby) -- There are
many versions of this wonderful little fellow, who also is known as "Madonna's
Baby." Most versions are zipped:
Office Worker Smashing Computer (angryman.zip, 4.9MB) -- This is the security camera tape of an office worker in his cubicle getting upset with his computer. First he slams his fists down on the keyboard. Then he grabs his keyboard and uses it as a bat to knock over his monitor onto the floor. Then he kicks his monitor. Great stuff. You'll cheer because you've always wanted to do this yourself. Raymond & His Love For Cheese (Ray_11.9meg.mpg, 11.9MB) -- Right-click on this link and choose "save link as" or "save target as" to save this hilarious 1:34-minute clip to your hard drive. This clip, created by Michael Loeck, features a mouse singing "I Believe In Miracles" to a piece of cheese that is sitting on a mouse trap. Let's just say that the ending is not what you expect. Snowman "Eating" Kid (snowman.zip, 1.7MB) -- Don't worry, this isn't gross. In this little clip, a snowman leans over and "swallows" a kid. Very funny stuff. Talking Baby "Bob" (bob.zip, 1.3MB) -- This is the now classic commercial for FreeInternet.com. In this commercial, a baby named "Bob" (he even has the name "Bob" across his shirt) sits and talks about the Internet. The makers of this commercial did a wonderful job in making it appear that the baby is really talking. Exploding Whale Video (whale.zip, 10.8MB) -- This is an Internet classic. This is a newscast of how Oregon officials decided to get rid of a dead whale on their beach. They decide to dynamite the beast, thinking the dynamite will blast the whale into a million pieces. Instead, the dynamite shoots huge whale blubber into the air, crushing a car and causing people to run for their lives. And it's all on tape. Very funny stuff. QuickTime Virtual Reality (QTVR) Disney (disney.zip, 274K) -- This is a nice virtual reality of Main Street at Disney World. Old Faithful (faithful.zip, 1.25MB) -- This is one of the most impressive QTVR's I've ever seen. You can drag your mouse and make Old Faithful erupt, then look at the eruption in 180 degrees. Basketball Player (basketball.zip, 269K) -- Several cameras place 360 degrees around a basketball player freezes his motion as he goes up to lay in the ball. You can "spin" the photo and see him in 360 degrees. Free Screensavers Screensavers -- Go here for screensavers that you can download to your computer and begin using immediately. Themes include landscapes, city scenes and even theme parks. It's all there. Create Your Own Screensaver -- Would you like to be able to create your own screensaver and even be able to add your own music, such as MP3 or MIDI files? Well, you can! And you can even save your screensaver in such a format that you can e-mail it to friends. Sound Files Hilarious Laughing (laugh.zip, 153K) -- This is a WAV file of a person laughing like crazy. It will make you laugh out loud. "Working" Sound File (working.wav, 23K) -- This tiny file says "working" in the Star Trek computer voice. It's what my computer says every time I open a program. I've gotten a gazillion requests for this file. "You've Got Post" Sound File (gotpost.wav, 25K) -- According to a friend who sent this to me, this is the AOL British version of "You've Got Mail." In England, the mail is called "post." In this sound file, a British voice says, "You've got post." "You've Got Spam" Sound File (gotspam.wav, 52K) -- Perhaps this the most appropriate sound for mail. A woman says, "You've got spam!" 3-D Photographs 3-D Photos Taken By Me -- I have my very own 3-D camera, and I take it everywhere with me.
