Crushed, Elongated Coins

Not too long ago, I began collecting crushed pennies and quarters. These are the coins you put in a machine and watch as a cylinder slowly spins and presses an image on the coin (such as in the ones pictured above). These coins are also known as elongated coins.

Now, wherever I go, I'm on the lookout for machines that crush coins. (And, yes, these machines are legal.) In fact, there are actually many serious collectors out there. There is even a Website devoted to such collectors. It's called the Penny Page. And believe it or not, there is a Squished Penny Museum.
