In addition to being a journalist, I'm also a photojournalist. But that love of photography isn't limited to news events. I'm taking photos wherever I go. I always keep in mind to take some horizontal photos so that I can make them into computer wallpaper. NOTE: There are dozens of wallpapers in the links below. You can use a free program called Panorama to take whatever photos you want and rotate them on your desktop as wallpaper. On my own computer at home and at work, I have 20 desktop backgrounds, and a new one replaces the old one every 30 minutes. Go here for download and installation instructions for Panorama. If you don't want to use Panorama, you can still go to the links below and choose various wallpapers, following the 2-step instructions that appear on each individual photo's page. (I made it easy.) By the way, I also have tons of free screensavers you can download. But my wallpapers are listed below: Wallpaper Chicago -- Night-time shots of the city and of Navy Pier in its glowing brilliance, as well as daytime shots of the exquisite excellence of the city's architecture, considered among the finest in the world. Also look for some bizarre shots taken from inside the Museum of Science & Industry.
Cypress Gardens -- Photos of this unique theme park feature Southern Belles and scenic gardens.
Denver -- Photography of the buildings, architecture and sculpture that help set the theme for this great city.
France -- Photos of many castles, Napoleon's tomb, Notre Dame, the Arc de Triomphe, the Cimetiere du Pere-Lachaise graveyard, DisneyLand Paris and, of course, the Eiffel Tower (including awesome night shots). And while you're there, check out the 360-degree virtual reality "moving" shots I took in France.
1996 Atlanta Olympics -- Wallpaper of the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, such as the Opening Ceremonies shot (above), where everybody glowed while holding special flashlights.
St. Petersburg: Historic Tramor Cafeteria -- With its ceiling painted to look like a sunny Florida sky, the Historic Tramor Cafeteria is an architectural marvel, featuring prominent staircases, a balcony that goes around the entire building, etched glass, and a rather prominent, odd looking star-shaped light fixture that sits in the middle of the floor, shooting towards the ceiling.
Silver Springs (Florida) -- See the glass-bottom boats and the crystal clear waters (where the original Tarzan movies were filmed). Also witness the animals that abound at this beautiful nature park.
Sunken Gardens -- Relaxing waterfalls and fairy book winding sidewalks under a canopy of trees highlight the wallpaper from this St. Petersburg, Florida park. And while you're there, check out the 360-degree moving virtual reality shots of the park.
Universal Studio's Islands of Adventure -- This offers great shots of the theme park, particularly of Marvel Super Hero Island, including the Amazing Spider-Man ride and the Incredible Hulk ride.
Utah -- These stunning photographs are of Utah's majestic mountains. Some of the scenes truly are breathtaking. |
